Why We Do What We Do

Female-headed households:

In Ghana growing evidence of poverty among women has been linked to the increase in the number of female-headed households, a result of migration, family dissolution, male mortality or single parenthood. Women now head One third of families in Ghana. We believe we are called according to His purpose to live and do as Galatians 6:2 says, to “Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Empowerment through income:

A big part of empowering the women is to train them in small business management and income generation, so they can become independent. However, it can be tough to achieve this when the women’s immediate priorities is their day-to-day struggle against the consequences of poverty.
